If you have any chance of training with Claudia, do it. Sell your children, sell your spouse, take the dog and hitchhike cross country. It will be worth it!
Seriously folks, if your clubs sponser seminars you need to put Claudia on the must do list. You won't be disappointed.
Hats off to Art and and all the people at Iron Dog. You folks made everyone feel welcome and the weekend was flawless!
Thanks, Betty! It was great seeing you, your mom, Annabel and that Other Dog again. Our club does pride itself a bit on our hospitality, even if our requests to the Weather Gods didn't get through. Claudia was great and I hope everyone had as good a time as I did.
She was able to help everyone and easily identified problems with the dog or the handler and what either needed to do to correct it. The way that she reads dogs is incredible and her understanding of dog behavior overall is stellar.
Besides being nice, she puts you at ease working with you and your dog which translates into better training. Her humor always makes me laugh, and her true love of dogs and training them is very clear when you work with her.
I truly think that Claudia is one of the very best dog trainers we have in the Schutzhund/Dog world today. If you have the chance to go to one of her seminars or work with her, DO IT!
I'm going to be going to her seminar in New York on Feb 2nd. Sure would have liked to have been at the sunny Florida one, though! Next time! Sounds like everything went really well and a good time was had by all!
Amber!!! This is great -- the Claudia Romard seminar on Feb. 2 is hosted by my club!
I just went looking for this thread to check out the picture link from Shelly and I see your post! I've been looking forward to the seminar and working with Claudia -- now there is an extra bonus as we get to meet too!
Please PM me if you have any questions about the location or accomodations nearby.
My club is hosting an obedience seminar with Claudia in Feb. I'm really looking forward to it -- and have heard all the great things you posted about her previously.
Just curious -- what kind of stuff she touched on in bitework in your seminar?
She is really very close geographically to us to have her do a day seminar of bitework for our club.
