I would find out where they are being taken and contact them right away to tell them you are interested in adopting those puppies. Since animal control took the dogs from the owners and the pups are in such bad shape, then animal control may decide to go ahead and put them down right away. I don't think animal control is required to hold them for any period of time, pictures would work in any charges they may want to file. JMO

i just wanted to say thank you mallory for helping the puppies, and giving sugar some dignity in her death. i'm glad those puppies had you there to take action.

well, i try.....
when i heard that she was out there dead for a week, i wanted so badly to beat on their door and lay into them.
I just don't get it. Ok, animals die, sure, but to leave your pet like that is nothing short of cruelty.
if animal control had done their job sooner and taken the mom and pups weeks ago, Sugar could have been brought back to health, and maybe even adopted out, or at least humanely euthanized, as opposed to starvation and freezing temps.

i am going to animal control on friday to pick up the 2 puppies!!!!!!
i have been pre-approved(sounds like i am buying a car....) to adopt them, and i can get them on fri.
i saw them lastnight, they are sooooooo tiny still, but eating.
i know i will definately keep one, and keep the other until i can find the perfect home. I am taking both, because the pups have to be out of there by friday, or it's the happy gas for them.....

hahaha, i was going to take both forever, and then envisioned the lashing i would get here.....
plus, i know how stressful it was when i had 5 pups at once, 4 of them always sick-ish.....not again!
but i can say that they were very low energy, and these pups will be too. I guess it comes from being so sick, they aren't going through the chewing on things running around phase. They would play lightly, but mostly just sleep and huddle.

So, you guys have been great! No one else cared or knew what to do here on my end. My school friends thought i was insane, and my dog friends well.......
there is this lady that comes to the park, and has 9 really old dogs, i mean, dying smelly can't really walk old. But she rescues the elderly ones, and cares for them. Everyone thinks she is crazy, and they talk about her.
I just didn't want to hear it, especially because i am in school and working, i knew i would get a "mallory, you don't need to do this" lecture, and well, i didn't want to hear it.
So for all they knew, i still only ever had 4 dogs.....

but you guys rushed to give advice, and to help me deal with the pups that did die, and i am thankful for that.

now i get to help the 2 that are left, and just be ready, i will likely be on here asking questions about them all the time.

they really are holding them till friday, AC just called me. I already applied, and have been approved. They are holding them just for me, and have it in their system that the pups are mine now.

still want one??????lol.
