Hey thanks guys for the inputs, I'm brand new to the whole dog ownership. But he did very good lastnight, we went out about every hour and have had no mistakes today!!!
That's because you are setting him up to succeed.
To him, potty will be associated with outdoors, because that's where he does it. It is becoming a habit, one that you reinforce every time you take him out and praise/reward him for good potty.

Ditto..... and don't overlook the deep value of the DVDs; there's really nothing like watching the actual process. The articles and podcasts are wonderful for augmenting the videos, definitely. But I am thinking that someone brand new to dog handling will benefit even more than most from the visuals.
I own several, and I "assign" #302 (Basic Obedience) to people whose house dogs I work with.

100% agree.
I added the articles since the DVD you recommended is a great place to start.
I think I have 12 DVD'd from LB right now and keep eyeing more. They are an invaluable resource, that is for sure.

Well I know an all natural diet is the best, but I haven't had time to research it so i'm afraid I would do more harm than good. Right now he is on Purina pro plan large breed puppy formula! How expensive is the all natural diet? I'm on a pretty tight budget and already have approx $900 in the pup. My wife might kill me in my sleep if I spend too much more(LOL). I only make approx $1200 a month at my small town police dept.

I know how you feel, that is the main concern I had in putting off the switch. There is no easy answer. If you can find a butcher or buying co-op and shop the sales, it's no so bad, but I'm not gonna lie, it is more expesnive than what you are feeding now.
My next advice, run don't walk away from the Purina......
Dustin, I am transitioning to raw and currently feed Canidae All Life Stages (which is fine for puppies) in the morning, and raw in the evening.
When I switched to Canidae I ended up using less than either Purina Pro Plan or the Nutro that I was using at that time. The cost was actually less for the Canidae and it's a better kibble.
It's not the best on the list, but it's probably the most economical and it's much better than Proplan or Nutro...
White vinegar is great for cleaning dog urine.Simply absorb as much as possible with paper towel and then poor on a little vinegar. Let it set for a couple minutes and soak it up. It has never left a stain on my carpet or hardwood floors. Kills the smell too.
