Jennifer, I've heard another bee story similar to the one you told.
really a similar bee story!?!
I still feel crazy when I tell it, but it was odd enough to make me take notice at the time, and still seems profound and related somehow.
Only Lady knows when Im coming home, and she lets the others know.
I know she isnt listening to the car noise because most of the time Im on a bike (hey gas is expensive) and I approach from a direction where she cant see me.
That is a really weird and intersting story about the recall, lady can tell when Im going to go somewhere as soon as Ive decided it in my head, it is strange; usually im sitting at my desk and she will get up and wag her tail and start her "yay" routine. she also knows whether or not I'll take her, this may be from tiny sighns or chemical changes but still; its fascinating.
When you really get down to it on a cellular and neural level emotions and thought processes are facilitated by chemical changes in our nervous system, if they can smell an oncoming seizure or smell the chemical changes during a heart attack its not such a stretch to think that they could pick up on other chemical changes which signal an emotion or particular thought.
That doesnt explain how they know when someone is coming home, or the lady who could call her dog from outside without making a sound though.
