I did find the article interesting. More in line though with how people humanize their pets. I work at a big box pet store so I run into this every day with people who refuse to buy crates, refuse to train, and yet come to me in about 3-4 months about their dog who chews up everything and doesn't listen to them.
Reading the prong collar article, I came across this:
"Beware those who recommend fitting a prong collar (or any collar) up high, near the dog's ears - their intention is to cause pain by putting the collar in this nerve rich, muscle poor area of great sensitivity."
Now even I know that's bull.

I had the same experience. Those kind of people got me fired, unfortunately. But you probably have a better temper and more patience than I do =)
