I will say this I am no vet but I have been in school for about 1 year for vet tech now and alomost done.
That really does not sound like parvo.
If a puppy gets parvo that young from point of exposer to death is 48 hours.
anything under 3 months is nothing to play around with parvo I do minamil also and would say your other dogs are ok.
It could either be a reaction the the vaccine or the puppy may have gottin into something at the shelter or at your home.
Like poison or something or cleaning products at the shelter.
When a dog get poisoned the stomach lining get eaten away by the poison cleaner ect. Which makes a whole and the stomach fills with blood. Which can cause blood in stool or blood in throwing up.
If a puppy has parvo the throwing up would have blood and stool.
But the same things happens with poisoning.
And also we have seen older dogs and puppys get in to pison but it only efected the young puppy cause of size and such.
I also wanted to say I am sorry for your loss
The initial stools, including the semi runny one didn't smell bad (other than - HEY POO JUST SMELLS BAD!). The last dying bloody one smelled . . . WOW. Indescribable.
Highly unlikely it was poison I would think. If he ingested poison at the shelter, wouldn't it have killed him a lot faster than 9 days? At my house he was never further than 3 feet from a human being as he was only 8 wks old. If we weren't interacting with him, he was in his kennel. Doubt he ate poison at my house.
OMG!!! Sudden thought - he ate horse poo! Could that have been it?
I'm willing to bet it was the vaccine the shelter gave him. I wonder if they even checked the condition of the pups in the litter when they were brought in, other than a token glance.
I'm sorry you lost your pup, poor little thing, he sure went through a lot; and I'm glad you didn't take him back to the shelter.
