Papillons like mine are a bit nasty about staining. I use a face scrub by Spa when I bathe the little guys, I also wipe down paws and faces twice a day, also as a side note we've also noticed increased staining when beet pulp is in the kibble although we're not quite sure the whys on that yet.
Angel Eyes does work, but, it is essentially an antibiotic. Dogs should not be getting tear stains if they are groomed regulrly. If they are there is a reason for it; plugged duct, under size duct, etc. Have a vet that knows about eyes check the dog out. Sometimes a simple surgery to enlarge the ducts is a remedy and sometimes it can be caused by a genetic condition called entropia which causes the eyelids to turn in on the eyes. AGain, the remedy is surgery. You need to find out because over time an infection of entropia can cause scarring of the cornea and impair vision. Also, any small Poodle mix can be affected by a disease called PRA> This does not cause eye stains but since we were on the subject of eyes I thought that I'd mention it. There is a test that can be done for it and there are eye clinics ay many AKC dog shows.
