I can show them the thread, but I doubt it will do anything, honestly. They might remember to keep him on lead for a little while, but I'll bet the farm they'll forget in about a week. I can explain until I'm blue in the face but they just don't get that even though he can recall in the house it's not the same when he's charging another dog.
He's not considered my dog. I don't have a whole lot of say in how he's controlled. If I put him in the crate when I'm not home they'll let him out because crates are "cruel."
Getting sue might get their attention. We only have one close neighbor (thank God). She let her vicious cattle dog loose all the time. One letter from our laywer and we have had peace.
We hate to be bad neighbors but we have a respondsibility to the safety of our dogs and clients here for horseback riding.
i don't know....i have friends getting sued b/c of a bite (actually, the first of 3 bites their younger dog has....the dog is now under a province-wide muzzle order when off private property (the result of the third bite), which they have said they will not comply with). they think it's funny....??????. the third bite occured in the exact same circumstances as the first (hello preventable) though they say their dog has 'changed' since the first bite. And that's their 'better' dog....their older dog has bitten 4 people that i know of, 3 had to go to the hospital, and it punctured the esophagus of a cat now in my care.
which is to say, that while hopefully ashley's parents aren't irresponsible like my friends, some people - nothing gets through to them.
(i posted about these people AGES ago, b/c she was pregnant w/twins....moot point, she delivered early and the babies died, though they are going to try again.)
