Sandy, Howard, & Debbie,
Thank you. Her name is San San, it is actually Chinese, and that's the closest spelling I can come up with to put on her tag. San San can mean number 3, mountain, or coral. She is our third "kid," we also have a 6 yo male Westie, and a 6 yo male Pek/Doxie mix, both neutered.
The redness in San San's coat shows up so much better in the sun. It's funny, I guess she looks different from the classic black and red GSDs, I've had people asked me if she's part wolf, most people don't recognize her as a GSD.

She is just gorgeous Melissa. I'm partial to those sable GSD's.
Her eyes have a very loving look in them. Enjoy her!

Katie,
Thank you. I was originally looking for a black/red GSD since my first GSD was black/red. But we decided to go with San San after the trainer described her personality and he felt that it would be a good match for us. We are so glad that we went with his suggestion. We had not paid much attention to the sable GSDs in the past, but after we've seen her, we are now fans of the sable GSDs.

That is so interesting that you said that, about
looking like a wolf!
I was thinking the same thing.
So how is she with the other dogs?
Have A Great Day,
Debbie

I think in her name, I know what you are talking about.
We have a restaraunt we go to every now and then, and its called Cho Cho San.
Does it sort of sound like 'sawn'...?
I like it!
Have A Great Day,
Debbie

Debbie,
LOL, yes, I believe you know how her name sounds.
It took awhile but the three dogs are learning to get along with each other. The Westie, MoMo, has always been submissive and dog-friendly, so no problem there. The Pek/Dox mix, Kuma, initially did not want to have anything to do with her, but he is slowly accepting her. San San, for the most part, just ignores them, she appears to care more about human attention than attention from other dogs. For the first week or so, we would crate her when we were at work, we don't anymore and they seem to do just fine. We are waiting for Ed's DVD on pack structure, we are hoping that it will give us more insight.
