Cindy, that is going to be one hell of a scrapbook. Go to google, type in "Ed Frawley" barracks and I got over 14 pages of newstories, paper articles, video, blogs, message boards, etc. The word definitely got out, and fast. You guys should be proud.

I just returned from New York and the CBS morning show - that was a whirl wind trip. Didnt even know I was going until they called yesterday at 3:30 and I was on a 7 PM flight and met by limos. :-)
Who would have thought where this would go?
I got home tired and with 175 emails. I just wanted to thank all the folks here for their kind words.
Tonight on the flight back to Mnpls I thought we had all acomplished something
1- it's made a lot of people mad
2- it's made a lot of people happy that it was exposed
3- but the most important thing is that it has stirred peoples hearts and made millions of people proud of our soldiers. As far as I am concerned thats more important than the barracks.
So when you see a soldier tell him thanks and that your proud of him. If you want to make him proud - tell him to thank his family for you too.

Kudos to you, Ed, for your accomplishment. Hundreds - no, thousands - of soldiers will live in a little better environment because of your initiative to shine a public light on the problem. It is certainly what these men and women deserve for the sacrifices they've made and continue to make for all of us.

Ed is a mover and a shaker!
I'm surprised Oprah hasn't run with this(although she still may :grin as she's always stressing the fact that one person has the power to make big change for the better in this world!
Wow, congrats!

Bravo, Ed! I saw the Early Show and I have to say that aside from the pictures speaking for themselves, your ability to clearly articulate yourself and the passion that was behind your words...well, it had an amazing impact. I'm impressed on many levels and thank you for doing all that you did for our soldiers.
Again, BRAVO.

Just an update to this thread, received a letter in the mail today from my state senator Tim Johnson about the barracks at Fort Bragg. He is the Chairman of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Subcommittee responsible for funding military construction projects. Ed Frawley is mentioned in his letter. It is nice to know that one person can still make a difference.
I am sure the letter from the US Senate is a form letter but it was still nice to recieve and know my message got through (along with everyone else's).

Ed, it truly is amazing what one determined man can accomplish.
We e-mailed our representatives. I just got an e-mail back from IL US Senator Dick Durbin. (well, or someone in his office, I'm sure).
Mr. and Mrs. Beth & Gary Fuqua
1400 Pine Ridge Drive
Joliet, IL 60433
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Fuqua:
Thank you for contacting me about living conditions at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. I appreciate hearing from you and share your concerns about the deplorable conditions in the barracks for Ft. Bragg's Company C, 2nd Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment.
Our troops have done everything we have asked of them and they deserve support they can depend on, including housing that is safe, clean, and in good condition. The living conditions revealed by the videotape of the Ft. Bragg barracks are unacceptable. Ft. Bragg is in the midst of an upgrade to its facilities. Once the video was released, the Army swiftly fixed all of the deficiencies shown in the video. Senior Army officials have pledged to prevent a reoccurrence of this incident.
I will continue to monitor this situation and will keep your thoughts in mind as I work to ensure that our soldiers have the facilities they deserve. I also will continue to support measures that provide our troops with a level of pay, benefits, and assistance that reflects their importance to our nation.
Thank you again for contacting me. Please feel free to stay in touch.
Sincerely,
Richard J. Durbin
United States Senator
RJD/ds
Hope Mr. Durbin is sincere about staying on top of this.
Beth
