thank you, i was also told that you dont really need to use supps if you feed him a balanced diet, like i feed him fish once a day so do i still need to give him fish oil?
and if i add an orange to his veggy glop so i still need to add the vitamin c.
ok so all day he has had loose stinky stool, so i will feed him jsut the chicken thies and maybe some other rmbs i have untill the loos stool stops then slowley add the organ meet back into his diet, or should i just wait it out a few more days
i have been feeding him 3 to 4 times a day, today he was fed 3 and i gave him a pig foot as a bedtime snack, witch he is still working on, hard to chew when he cant use his paws due to the cone around his neck.
also today i picked up some back ribbs, more hearts and gizzards got 6 pounds for 5 bucks had to jump on that, piggs feet, pork neck bones and medium sized chicken wings, and beef oxtails, and i have 2 dressed trout im thawing now for his lunch tomorrow, ill prob give him checken thies for breakfast, the trout for lunch and maybee some pork necks for dinner with some veggie glop, does that sound like a good diet?
thanks

Sounds like excellent variety to me.....only for a dog who is used to raw.
Stick to one meat for a few days, then add gradually in small amounts. There is no reason to add vitamin C.
I would definitely add the salmon oil and vitamin E though. I feed fish too, but not daily. So all dogs get salmon oil and E daily. Fish or no fish. Also, not sure the trout adds the nutrients that are obtained from the salmon oil.....Connie is much better at that than I.
This is what my dogs meals look like when I feed an all meat meal:

I do not have any pics of starter meals, but mainly there is no organ meat, no skin on the chicken.
I still make veggie glop and feed that a couple times a week, but man oh man is Honest Kitchen easier. hee hee

so liver like once a week would be good, and use the chicken hearts and gizzards for the other types of organ meat?
and if his stool is still loose what other types of food will help to battle that?
Hearts and gizzards are muscle, but they are a rich muscle which can cause loose stool if too much is eaten.
The general rule with raw feeding is if the stool is loose you add more calcium. In your case you need to cut back on the variety and go with ONE protein, and reduce the liver and rich muscle meats, after your dog has gotten his gut flora adjusted then start adding some variety, one protein at a time. Feeding plain yogurt or kefir will really help the gut get adjusted to the new foods.
Good job on feeding your pet carnivore raw meat and bones!!!

I am new to the raw diet, so am no expert by any means, but, I add yogurt to my dogs' diet, I get the plain cultured yogurt and just add a little mixed in their food daily. I haven't had any stomach upsets with any of my dogs. I don't add any other meats except for chicken , I will add the other meats slowly, that way if they do get a loose stool I will be able to identify what food is causing it.
