I do what Connie does, but instead of snipping the top off the Ziplock I just roll it over once when I'm going to use it. It stays open very nicely when the bait bag is open, and then I still have a nice seal when roll it back up to put the baggie back into the fridge.
I think she is referring to Leerburg! I too love this treat bag and one reason is I can put my drivers license, checkbook or debit card and keys in the front and treats in the back when training "off site". I've put raw stuff in there before too, but just wash it really well and wipe out with a damp cloth with bleach when I'm done.

Love it.
Ahh.. do you wash the treat bag with soap and water? It can handle that and dries ok afterwards?
I've thrown mine in the washer. Several times, in fact, and then let it air dry. It worked really well.
I just broke the hinge on mine yesterday RIP, favorite purple bait bag. BUT I've had it for four years and have used the HELL out of it. I'm very, very impressed with the quality. I used to buy a new bag almost every year before I found this one.
Yep, hot soapy water, then a wipe with a disenfectant to be on the safe side and dry it off and you are good to go. The baggie liner is certainly a great idea too.
I have one, too. I haven't had to wash it yet. I use a baggie in the large snap pouch that holds the supply of freeze dried treats. When taking Lulu out for housetraining I grab another baggie (the old fashioned foldover kind) with two treats in it. One for pee, one for poop. She knows when I take only the little baggie why we're going out. When she sees the whole bait bag come with us she knows we're going to work. I try not to confuse the two for her. She's little and so has little poops. The extra baggie turned inside out makes a great poop scooper, then turned right side out and folded over, goes straight into the poop trash can in the garage.
We start puppy classes in a few weeks. Can't wait to impress the others with my snazzy bait bag.
I remember the instructions that came with the bait bag said to occasionally lubricate the hinges with petroleum jelly. I'll do that after I eventually throw it in the washer.
