I'm retired, I'm a postal employee
...... Just Kidding Dennis
Hmmmm...By day I am a Payroll Manager at hubbies contracting business, as well as being the office "gopher". Don't mind a bit as it is really great for my other jobs. I am allowed to leave whenever I need to.
My other jobs include, wildland fire fighter, extrication specialist (used that quite a bit this year and got some AWESOME new stabilization jacks, and new jaws to play with )
Then I am an EMT and cover call 24/7 every other week as well as during the day three days in my off weeks.
SAR Dog Handler for my fire department as well. Get called out in my hometown for nursing home patients and small kids and then I get called out to outlying areas as well as other states to assist as well. Also do some stuff for the U.S. Marshal's office with the dogs.
I love ALL of my jobs, but the dogs and the extrication is my favorites.
(Oh yeah, reserve LE as well)

I used to work full time as a paramedic, but I was hurt last year on a call.
That means no more on call, no more SAR work, etc until I am cleared. (surgery was this past April)
While I am mending, I have been working on my two businesses, real estate investment and dog training. I've been doing a lot of consulting work, and some rehab work since having to slow down, not as many clients, not as many difficult cases, to allow my knee to finish healing. A lot of my work is done from home, or near my home, so I am able to be online a lot now
(although, now that I think about it, I was online at the station before; when not on calls that is...)

I do on-site computer repair so being online is part of the job. Not much to do during a three hour download except check out some forums. For business customers I'm on call 24/7 but through shock collars and behavior mod I've convinced most of my business customers not to call me at 3:00 am just because they can't log on to their favorite fantasy football site. Just the important (business related) stuff.

I am a criminal prosecutor so when I am not in court or doing things like explaining to defense counsel why I don't feel their client with 10 previous felony convictions is going to turn over a new leaf, I have the chance to decompress and visit sites like Leerburg :-)

Until recently I was a life coach/counselor at a holistic medical center, and did a little writing on the side. I left my 'real' job to pursue my writing. I'm still doing a lot of little, odd jobs like columns and newsletters for local companies, which pays the bills. I get some assignments that I really like, but my my main purpose is to write a book based on holistic healing as it relates to the human psyche, the connection between physical and mental health, and the positivity of animal energy and the benefits to people. It's a lot of research but I'm really enjoying it.
The bonus is, I work at home!! Yeah!

Love reading yall's responses. Some _umm_ interesting people on here.
I work for a non-profit that takes contraband detection dogs to area schools. The dogs alert on drugs (including pills), alcohol, and gunpowder. Along with this, we have education curriculum for grades K - 12.
Of course, I was initially drawn to the job by the prospect of working with dogs. But the reward quickly changed when I realized what an incredibly positive impact we have on kids' lives. I could tell you many stories how kids have felt "safe" enough to admit problems in their lives simply because my canine partner was there.
Don't get me wrong, spending all day with a dog for your job is GREAT! Helping the kiddos is the real pay-off, though.

I am an artist(paint in oils) so I am a free spirit. My very best painting buddies are my dogs. There is usually at least two at my studio, most of the time all four of them though.
Get to check my computer when we take a break. I love my job!
What a fun question! It's nice to see what everyone does other than take care of their dogs.
Regards,
Debbie

Cool Job Ingrid.....I like your defense council comment....
My next venture might be some classes in forensics over the winter months. Been kind of playing around with that idea as it is really interesting to me.
