That's horrible!
Thanks for the chuckle.
Yeah, I'm devious like that.....do me a favor? Have your camera handy when your son asks that question?
I would bet money it is the same look my mother gave me when I said it to her. She has not talked about Raw since and actually let me feed their border collie raw until he died from hemangiosarcoma (sp).
Until The Tale of the Lioness is told, the Story will Always Glorfy the Hunter
Wow my kid would never go around someone like that again. I had a lady yell at me in the park about raw.
They dogs had dinner in thee park along with us I asked what are you feeding your ugly mutts. She said ol roy I said your dogs will die befor myne even look like there hitting old age.
Your slowly poisinoning your dogs and went back to want we where doing.
I am sorry it happened hope your son relizes who is right.
OMG Alyssa, I simply do not know what I would do in your shoes.
Your poor son!
I don't know what you told him, but do remind him that wolves have always eaten raw and survived for thousands of years that way, and they don't get degenerative diseases like those who eat processed cereal (listen to me talk, my dogs are kibble fed).
Maybe you could ask this woman how she prevents her outdoor cat from "killing itself" eating raw mice and birds? (Never mind the REAL threats like vehicles, stray dogs, garbage, antifreeze, cat fights, cold weather, etc, etc, etc.....)
You could point out to your son how this woman said she doesn't agree with raw and yet her own cat eats it (along with literal garbage)? And if she can't take care of her own animals who is she to say that you don't take care of yours?
I think we have to remember, he's 4. A simple, 'Mom and Dad would never do anything that would hurt Danke because we love her almost as much as we love you' probably will suffice.
But yes, I think the larger question is, what other crap has she been telling him?
This is horrible. I personally would tell her to pound sand. So sorry you had to deal with this. But, as you said, at least he told you rather than worry about it alone.
When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
