Alright, I'm over it. Everybodys' input is greatly appreciated. Like I said I'm new to the dog sporting world and I just wasn't sure how this worked. Last pups I got I was able to choose but like you said Mike it was mostly outward appearances in one visit to the pet shop, even though we did go to many, many, many pet shops and saw many, many beagles until I found just the right one, but it was not working ability that made the decision, I understand what you meant. I feel confident now that I'm getting a nice pup. Time will tell.

My breeder chose my pup, but gave me the chance to evaluate all of the pups and change his decision. I ended up going with his recommendation and couldn't be happier.
