Heh yeah I have all sorts of stuff for him to bite. Garage sales are wonderful places to find stuff to start a Mondio collection. People give away all sorts of great stuff for a puppy to kill!!
Jennifer, thanks, I will! I would have loved to meet the rest of the litter but time and finances did not allow for a trip to GA. Did you meet the little beasties or are you commenting on the breeding? Sorry I'm nosey! lol
Commenting on the breeding. I do love a lot of what comes out of that kennel. I look forward to seeing what you two accomplish. Where are you training Mondio?
I'm planning on getting down to Cascade (Seattle area) and train with Mike Breton.
After not having a working puppy for a few years my redirection skills were a bit rusty. I think I have perfected the art again.
I was thinking she could send her bandaids to me!!! LOL! I have yet to perfect the redirection skills and I'm a bloody mess. Jen, BTW, just exactly HOW did you perfect this? Ahem, seriously... lol.
Congrats on Cuda Jenn! As well as the new digs one day when I grow up I want to live on a small farm like that too! Must be a pretty exciting time for you!
I agree with the other posts, you are truly blessed, that has been my husband's and mine dream for years!
The new pup sounds great, please do update us with pictures and amazing and amusing puppy stories, and especially training tips!!
God bless you
LOL Michelle well start with wearing carhartt pants no matter how hot it is (like 105!!) and then always carry something with you no matter what. I have one of those u-shaped neck pillows and when I see that little sparkle in his eye (which is about 95% of the time he's awake) I will shake a foot at him to get him to target it then I shove the pillow in his mouth real fast.
I have wounds, most surely I do, but the only time he gets me good is when I'm doing something and not giving him the 150% of my attention that he requires. He got my wrist really good and laid open one of my fingers and I have a 1/2" puncture in the back of my knee but I get by - now - with just scrapes and such. He has ENORMOUS teeth for a puppy. I have never seen such huge canines on a little critter. And he will do well for Mondio or French Ring as he takes pressure and just bites harder and deeper, even at just 10 weeks.
Putting a harness on him was like.. well.. trying to muzzle a barracuda.
He's an awesome little guy!
Jennifer I will be training with Sharon Novak of Club Mondio, she is my mentor and I love her to pieces. I will also be visiting Marcel Harnois and hopefully tagging along when he goes to train with Michael Ellis. I've been thinking of giving Lucillano Oliva a buzz when Cuda is a bit older to add variety into the program.
