Thanks all for input and thoughts. One more thing-can't believe I forgot to mention earlier. Prelim blood panel clean for organ function, glucose, etc.
While I've done painting, grout, etc., I don't leave anything out and he's not around while I do it. He's never had any tendency to get into stuff.
I'm taking him to his regular vet tomorrow to discuss other options, including MRI's, xray, etc.
He's sleeping sound right now. Good to see a little comfort in his day.

I'm glad things have settled down for the night.
One last thing... check your water with the local health dept. Most countys will do this for free. It's not an obvious one but I've seen it once before with a friend who suddenly had her entire population of pet mice suddenly die over a two day span and her cats get ill. Turned out that while she didn't drink her tap water but rather bottled the cats and mice did.
This is not a scientific opinion, just based on older dogs I have known that suddenly developed seizures. I think cancer is unfortunately near the top of the list of potential causes. In humans, strokes also cause seizures, so maybe he is having TIAs (little short lived strokes). If so, you might notice changes in how he holds his head, how his ears or eyes change (become asymetrical) or stumbling. By definition, TIAs last less then a day, at least in people.
