Well good luck. I sure hope she is more "motivated" by praise than mine is. My 8 month old couldn't care less if he is praised or not. It does nothing for him. (And YES, I do know the "correct" way to praise a dog. )
The dog would only eat about 1 out of every 3 meals, the rest went in the trash, so he went without eating for over a day by CHOICE most of the time. He was a show line German dog and just couldn't care less about any food. This went on all his life until he was five and developed an auto-immune disorder and went on a low dose of pred for the rest of his life. Then he would eat the wallpaper off the walls! Thank God he had tolerable prey drive, so he learned to track and do ob. for a ball. But there are plenty of pet dogs out there that have a similar lack of interest in food. Makes it very hard to train them motivationally cuz they usually also lack prey drive. What's left?

hee hee! Anyway Lee I understand what you mean. Sometimes we will meet such a misfit. But such are rare...real rare. I have never seen one myself as yet. Hopefully will never see one in the working lines.

When the dog is confused, blame not the dog but shoot the handler.
