along the same lines as the pea gravel, you can throw some mulch down on the path they use.
Keeps the dust down, and isn't hard on their paws. (just don't get the Cedar Chips, make sure it's mulch)
If she's going to complain about dust getting on her porch, i wouldn't want to hear what she would say about little rocks flicking over into her yard...lol.
Yes the mulch will spread around a bit, but you can just keep pushing it back onto the dirt area.
Cheaper than pea gravel.
You gotta be kidding,
Dogs that the neighbor keeps run the fence and drive your dogs crazy, so you're the problem?
I would plant or install something in or around the fence to give my dogs some relief. But dust !!!!??? You've already got problems with this neighbor, there'll be no appeasing this person no matter how far you bend backwards Sharon.
Save yourself some time and effort;
tell them to go pound sand.
Dear Abby,
The world is a dirty place. There is dust every where. What can I do?
Signed,
Anile in LA.

Not sure what you think Im kidding about.
she asked for suggestions and I gave her some to keep the dust down, which is what she was asking.
Do i think her neighbours have a right to complain, absolutely not.
Do I think Sharon was looking for some suggestions to keep the peace for now, yes.
Considering what she said here:

we have strange neighbors, dogs have been skinned or poisoned in the past
I wouldn't want to take any chances either.
You never know what the neighbour will do if they feel they have to take care of the problem themselves.

She wants me to run my dogs in my front yard. I told her I couldn't due to the neighbor dogs being housed in her back yard and the barking and running of the fence her dogs do. she says too bad.
Sharon, im confused by this part.
Are her dogs in the backyard of her place and they run the fence?
So, how does she know it's your dogs causing the dust and not her's?
Dear Wendy: I am in the middle of two neighbors, one just past me has her back yard facing my front yard. So I do not want my dogs in my front yard because it will cause our dogs to bark, and she has already had complaints filed. I don't want my dogs picking up the barking habit. ON the other side of me, next to my back yard is my other neighbor, who complained about the dust. along side our homes is a long dirt driveway, and in front of the complaining neighbors home is a road, that is paved, but has dirt on each side. So , my husband asked a good question, how does she recognize our dirt??!
I don't know where this came from with her. Up until now we have been getting along fine.
We will probably put up some bamboo on the fence and plant some plants along it. Just about a foot from the fence we have trees, small ones that we planted to they wouldn't hang over her yard.
The area is very large- a quarter acre size, so my dogs do not run near the fence. If they run down the middle of the yard, they are about 5-6 ft from her fence. They do kick up dust when they run, but I don't think it is going into her house or patio.
Anyway, we are going to try that and as fall approaches, (it is still about 100 her in Elsinore, though today is cooler) we are going to try and plant grass. We will see what happens.
Dear Chris: Hey, I like that idea. Then if things heat up I can have a record of what is going on. The funny thing is my dogs aren't outside that much, it is just too hot here. (some days it reaches near 110!)
In the morning when it is cool is when they play outside, and I am with them. They run for about 1/2 hour and then we come in.
Then in the evening we are outside again, when it is cooler, the rest of the time they are with me inside.
I am going to check into the camera thing, great idea.
Thank you, Sharon
