It's one of the ingredients in Honest Kitchen Thrive. I think it's fine to feed as long as your dog can tolerate grains.
Yes, quinoa is not one of the gluten grains that cause most of the gluten problems (like wheat and barley). It's related to amaranth, another grain that even gluten-intolerant individuals are often fine with, in appropriate amounts, if you feed grains.

Quick Update......
Fed the Quinoa this morning, with a couple of other things I feed on a regular basis and the dog was sick when I came home tonight.
Not sick as in ill, but displaying vomiting, almost like the kind of vomiting your get when a dog is very hungry, but not quite the same. Hard to describe. I didn't see the colour as it was dark when I got home, but I don't think I'll be feeding that any time soon again unless it's in very controlled circumstances.

Do you mean it as a small part of a meat/bone diet? It's not a main part of a dog diet, any more than any grain, but I'm sure you know that.
Did you rinse the seeds before cooking to remove their bitter saponin?
Have you used quinoa before? I should have asked. (But you said "left over" .... so presumably it was rinsed and cooked for humans, and you had some left, right?)
If I fed grains, quinoa would be one of my choices.

Avocado MEAT isn't dangerous.
It's the skin which is toxic to dogs.

How did you find this out, Alyssa?
My dog loves avocados. I've never given her the peels, which I'd never eat myself. When I stared reading that avocados are toxic to dogs, I was dismayed, but I've never read anything more specific than "avocados are toxic to dogs."
If it's just the peels, well, that's wonderful<g>.
thanks,

While there can be debate about what is, and is not O.K for a dog to eat, I can say with 100% certainty that no dog has ever died from not having avocado in their diet.
I promise.

It's not. It is the tree, bark, flesh, peel, and pit, particularly of Guatemalan avocados.
I think that Avoderm is shamefully irresponsible to imply wonderfulness of avocado for dogs.
Lots of dogs (scavengers, after all) have eaten grapes and avocados and even chocolate with no apparent ill effects. But like with grapes, I do not want to test how much it takes to affect my individual dog. Both grapes and avocados have highly individual toxicity levels: we don't know how much is too much until we find out --- in a bad manner. And as Michael Wise says: "I can say with 100% certainty that no dog has ever died from not having avocado in their diet."
Avocado should not be fed to any non-human because the list of susceptible species grows all the time.
Persin (the problem) is a fatty acid-type structure that leaks into the flesh from the stone.
Persin was identified fairly recently. Veterinarians used to believe that this fungicidal toxin was only in the leaves, pits, and skin. They were incorrect, according to newer data (the last 3 or 4 years).
This fungicidal toxin appears very rarely to be a problem to humans, but domesticated animals should not be given Guatemalan avocado, or any avocado in large amounts.

There are many varying answers on the web, but the Merck vet manual describes cases of 2 dogs developing myocardial damage from avocado flesh ingestion.
Also: "Avocado causes necrosis and hemorrhage of mammary gland epithelium of lactating mammals ... " (Merck Vet Manual, 2002).
http://vetmedicine.about.com/library/veterinaire/blvet-ee3-a.htm
says:
Avocado is toxic to: birds, cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, fish, and goats
Signs seen: inflammation of the mammary glands (mastitis), fluid build up in lungs and around heart leading to respiratory distress and heart failure.
