Good, then you will need to get an average weight on the food.
((( Tomorrow morning she will get a chicken back and some yougurt. )))
Each of those meals should weigh a little over 3/4 pound, per your plan.
I believe that you will find (a bit later) that low-cellulose green vegetables will help a lot in fluffing up the dish for a food hound who needs to lose a bit.
In fact, although a lot of the micronutrients have been cooked away, I have used cans of no-salt green beans to help satisfy a couple of adopted dogs who needed to lose a few. The canning makes them very easy to process and a whole can only has about 60 or 70 calories. The no-salt version is important.
Fresh food helps a lot, though. I have had great success with real food over kibble.
Ok, this morning Misty got a chicken back and some yougurt. On our morning walk her poop was dramatically different from what it has been since I have had her (3 weeks now). I realize this stuff could not have gone through her system yet, the walk was about 30 min after feeding.
Today's poo was hard and dry, seemed kinda chalky (although I was not going to test that). Is that normal? What should "good" poop look like? The nice thing about this morning was that the stink was gone. Misty is pretty good about pooping near the park garbage can so I can throw the bag away right away not sure how long I could carry that stuff around otherwise, it is ripe (except for this morning).
Sometimes a lot of bone in the meals can produce that dry poop. I don't bother looking for the picture perfect poop. If its not the runs, contains no foreign objects, and he's able to produce it easily, I consider it a success.
My dogs poops look like that if they got a lot of bone and not a lot of meat for that meal. (Example, a meal consisting entirely of chicken necks). It's normal based on what she got for breakfast that day! Increase her meat amount (i.e. a chicken back and maybe some ground chicken or chicken breast cubes) and it will stop looking so white.

Cool! Sounds like she is starting to adjust. I would still stick with chicken for a while.
Since it sounds like it was pretty hard, you would probably be fine letting her have a little more meat or fat. Emphasis on LITTLE, just to be safe.

Didn't feel like doing a little sidewalk chalk art? Maybe some simple math problems on some blacktop?
