What a tremendous accomplishment. I remember when you got your BH - how time does fly :-) You have a truly versatile boy there. One of these days I would love to come out and see your club!
Visitors are always welcome to our club.
Pics will be on our club site but may take a few days. http://www.rwdc.org
I'll give a holler when it happens.
Ingrid, we have two lawyers at our club.
Just goes to show you that we are open to anybody. JKN of course! :wink:
I wont say this was easy for me at first. I started my dog training in the Koheler era and had a ton of old habits to over come.
I will also never say never to physical correction but I haven't had the need for it for the past 5-6 yrs now.
I will DEFINATELY give a huge !!YES!! to marker training. I've seen some "strong" "dominant" "rank" "hard" etc, etc dogs do about turns with nothing more then good marker training.
As far as no corrections go;
Why pick a fight with a dog that loves the fight? Figure out what makes the dog tick and figure out WHY your doing what your doing in dog training. Don't do it just "because that's how I was told to do it." Be a pack leader. Not just someone that can "control" their dog!
I'm looking forward to Ed and Cindy's marker training video cause
Old dogs CAN learn new tricks! ;0)
Thanks again folks!
Bob that is soooo great! I still remember you as Old Earth Dog and when you were still just talking about getting a GSD.
I will be doing marker training with my new pup that I will get in January. Right now I'm signed up to audit a 3 day puppy camp with Susan Garrett of Say Yes Dog Training http://www.clickerdogs.com/
Well, Bob's been the poster child for so many things!
As he should be Will. I just went to the website and saw Thunder's very impressive photo gallery accompanied by a fine speciman of a man who must be none other than the infamous Bob Scott; poster child and super model.
Bob,
Are the last set of pictures from the recent trial?
