My little Brownie niece who is selling the cookies was thrilled when I emailed her that I actually knew military people who had received and enjoyed the GS cookies overseas.
Yep, those and the Thanks-a-Lots were awesome cold from the freezer on a 135 degree afternoon on duty.
It really was nice getting cookies and other snack-foods from home. It sure beat the well-meaning (but really useless) care packages containing baby-wipes and foot powder.
Batteries are also very nice to get. (Especially SureFire batteries.)

The Thanks-a-Lot is one that this troop can't get.
My training club is going to chip in on cookies for this military program. My personal vote is for Thin Mints , but do you think I should also suggest Samoas to them?
Thin Mints are a huge hit- I just avoided them often for the same reason I avoid Oreos unless I'm home alone.
Looking like you just ate a spoonfull of dirt isn't very professional, LOL. (However, for any MOS in the 11, 13, 18 or 19 series, it's a serious perk. Yum, dirt.)
Thin Mints are a good idea- go for it. This time of year, there is zero concern of melting, too. (Seeing as how this time last year, I was getting snowed on in Baghdad.)
