I completed the AD with Ellie last Spring. I used a Springer bike attachment with harness and a leash attached to her prong in training rides. It helps to have a good "leave it" or "on by" command for sure -- rabbits, squirrels and ducks where responsible for a few training spills.
I followed the training program in the thread that Charlie linked to above. It prepared us well. The only factor that affected Ellie on runs was warm temperatures -- otherwise training and running the AD was nice exercise for her.
At what age would it be okay to start this type of exercise. I find it hard to give Roscoe enough just playing ball. We live in a house with a small yard. He just turned 6 mos. Is he too young to do any kind of pulling?
