I walk Loki with me to pick up my son from school every so often because he LOVES the kids and sits there in doggy heaven while they pet him. I do watch closely of course!
But there was this woman who was in awe of how well behaved he is, and the fact that he only had a flat collar on. I told her that he is a good dog, but we have put a lot of work into him. And she told me she has a 3 month lab puppy but they can't take her anywhere because she jumps on people.
Then she told me that she can't train her right now because she was a broken wrist and can't spank her, and they don't want to kick her.
It is a good thing there were lots of small children around to temper my response.
I gave her my son's stepmom's business card because she is a trainer, and obviously this women needs it.
He's a yank and cranker, that's all. A friend of mine takes dogs in for 2 wks and thats what he does, really crap training but sadly for the dogs also effective
It dumbfounds me when people are willing to listen to someone who they have witnessed hurting their dogs with hard harsh corrections. I will bet that if he handles a dominant dog who is handler aggressive, the dog is going to send him to the hospital.
"It's better to be an optimist who is sometimes wrong than a pessimist who is always right"
I went to a yank and crank idiot before coming here. Kept telling us to poke the dog hard in the side plus lots of other bad advice. The only good was it brought me here.
Will needs to take Fetz to him and let him smack Fetz on the nose like that
Now THAT I would pay to see
We had a little female Dobe that would have happily relieved this fellow of a finger or two...hell, I wouldn't just let my dog bite him I would bite him myself. Scary.
Now I don't feel so bad for never being able to make it through even 5 minutes of his show....
What was the dog even supposed to be leaving when he smacked him and said leave it? I didn't see anything next to the dog and I didn't see it fixating on anything either. What a jerk.
