There are two classes of people at a trial the ones on the inside of the fence and the ones on the outside. You will seldom if ever hear the ones on the inside comment on a performance they will only give you encouragement. The ones on the outside don’t matter. A trial is only a measuring point as to where you are in your training. Learn from it and go on knowing all of us have had those days. I have been in many trials and have failed in every discipline and in every way possible but for me the joy is in the training, but winning is nice to.
Congratulations Steve on the attempt! I have been there done that and at the end of the day, still would not trade my dog in for the one that won ;-)
My old male LOVED to retrieve his dumbbell. Now, he loved his dumbbell so much that once when I sent him to retrieve it in a trial he decided that it would be just too short a time to have his dumbbell in his mouth if he promptly returned to me.
So he decided to add a couple blind searches in the mix while he carried his dumbbell. All I could do is stand there and think to myself, "Please don't do all six blinds." <vbg> The judge said he was the happiest retriever he had seen in awhile :-p
I want to say congratulation for your first try out. I'm sure the next try you guys might get a Sch 1. It was nice to see a rottweiler doing schutzhund where we don't get see them much in these days.
Thanks for sharing the video, but I saw other pictures in your profile oops. I didn't know that you are doing show conformation with Andy. He looks blast!
