But it could certainly be wrong! Wikipedia is what it is: very useful, but not always authoritative.
We're reading the same thing just interpreting differently. It says the show is set within the BATTLESTAR galaxy, but the action happens specifically on the terrestrial planet of Caprica.

Caprica is both a planet and an upcoming TV show, but her namesake is actually Caprica Six, the sexy, blonde Cylon model in the "reimagined" Battlestar Galactica TV show on the SciFi Channel. Although it sounds cheesy, the new show is really good and takes itself very seriously. I liken it to a cross between 24 and Lost, but in outer space. My husband and I love the show and we are sad to see the series finally ending this Friday.
