Cindy,
If it's any help, I have two human friends that both lost their spleens ( one to GSW, one to trauma from a car accident ) and both of them recovered without a problem and went on to lead busy and full lives.
I'm sending good Karma towards Raine, here's hoping for the best.
Sending healing thoughts for Raine and support your way Cindy.
It sure sounds like a blessing in disguise and you got that spleen out and averted an emergency!
Keeping Raine and you in our thoughts and prayers!

Cindy, I only have spleen stories with happy endings!
Seriously, I saw a number of splenectomies working for a vet (including the vet's own dog) and while it is a no-joke major surgery, every single dog came out healthy and well.
I'm so glad she's responding and I'm continuing to send healing, positive thoughts for Raine and for you! Lots of good vibes out there for you guys.

Cindy, we feel like we know you and Raine - we just finished watching the power of marker training a week ago and had so much fun watching you two! I was thinking the whole time what a great dog she seems to be!
Kasey can relate to her sore throat - he too had an endoscopy for swallowing a plastic cap I dropped and he 'vacuumed' up at 18 months. But that was a lot easier than major surgery.
We are praying she will be just fine. I too know of a couple of dogs who had spleens enlarged and removed and it was not malignant.

Cindy,
So sorry to hear about Aera and now Raine. My thoughts and prayers are with you now. It is a lot in such a short time. They do find a place deep in our hearts and their pain becomes ours. It might be a very fortunate thing that it was found in this way. My friend's Rottie had his spleen rupture and it was a true emergency.
