I did not see your reply. I wonder what happened? Could you re-send it to me. Also, I would never get offended at an honest answer. I am just doing a bunch of research right now and want to make the correct decision.
I realized that I originally posted under the wrong heading, must have been too early!
I finally figured out where your response was! Thank you so much! I'm a hobby trainer with 2 mixed breed dogs that I have trained in pet therapy, obedience and agility. My hound/rottie mix is a rather shy/sharp dog. I have come a long way with him and he is able to work in obedience and agility around other dogs without getting too snarky. It's because of him that I realized how much I enjoy training. He is actually getting some of his agility titles..but I digress.
Back to the topic...thanks again for the info on the shepherd breeder. I do appreciate the input.
I paid $1500 for Caleb in 2003. You only paid $1200 for Danke? Wait...her dam isn't titled, is she? That's probably why the $300 difference. Or I got ripped off.
Is your new pup priced high? How high? How come? Now I'm curious. And just plain nosey. PM me.
That's just a old recessive working line physical trait coming through. Good for you, but I wouldn't discount for that. There's nothing inferior about it. Qira had that as a tot.
Oh, I know it was her call. I'm just saying it's no big deal and am surprised she took money off for that. There were a few pups who had it in Caleb's litter also and I don't think they were less...I wonder if it's a sable vs. black thing. Hmmmm.
Danke and her two sisters Dascha and Dunja had been held back by the breeder to watch coat, color and personality development as potential breeding dogs.
At 14 weeks, I bought Danke, as my pick between the three. The breeder was looking at keeping Dascha, the other dark sable, and I suspect the age of the dog may have also played a factor. Didn't to me. *shrug* I was very happy to have a slightly older trio of dogs to test and select from.
White spot or no, Danke to me seemed the best of the three. Independant, bold and absolutely unfazed by anything.
