BTW- warning to all new trackers: Two months of allowing incorrect took TEN to fix. Just a little FYI.

I also assume its a good idea to wear him out a little bit before I try this so he will be slightly less spastic? That really cuts to the chase of my issues with him actually, he is a spaz, I don't think it is just from needing more physical activity either, I think I need to push him more mentally.

When I first started working (very belatedly) on slowing her down in tracking, she would literally jump straight up, whine, yip, throw herself down, and just generally throw a fit. She is a TOTAL spaz. FST= Foot Step Tracking, sport/Sch style tracking. A choke chain two sizes too big works perfect. Any regular six-foot leash works; I personally prefer leather, for traction. You don't move to the long line for quite awhile. It's always a good idea to start with a calm (but not tired or winded), spaz or not. And a hungry dog.
