I'll add one more happy ending story:
I've had a lot of cats and moved many of them. My indoor cat, Matisse, ended up moving quite a bit more than most and in only a few years.
She went from living in my apartment with another cat to moving with me into my mom's large house with a large dog to spending a total of 16 hours in a cramped carrier in the cabin of a plane flying us to Europe.
We lived for a month in a hotel and then we moved to an apartment. Added a husband. A few years later we upgraded to another apartment. Added a baby and moved one more time.
She adapted and she was not the most out-going cat on the planet. Basically, if I was around she was happy. Your cat will probably be the same and do just fine.
I forgot the best part of moving with Fluff.
When I was moving into my current house I had a U-haul. When we opened it up at the new house she came flying out like she had been shot out of a rocket, flew straight into the house and hid in the closet.... for several days.
I had no idea she had gotten loose and jumped into the back of u-haul with all of my furniture and boxes....I was so glad she didn't get crushed.

Thanks! It's good to hear two happy ending stories
Hey! what about mine? it was good!
Oh my gosh!!! I didn't even see your post! What the heck? How did I miss it? I've had a lot of midterms the past two weeks, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...
Anyway, that is a great story! Especially the house fire. That must have been awful for everyone. My mom and I have talked about having a fire, and how the only thing we would truly be worried about is our pets. My cat could get out because she can jump the fences, but our doggie would be stuck
And Jennifer, how scary for you and her! She must have been sliding around all over the back of the truck. Good thing she came out well even after that. She probably enjoyed the quietness in the closet!
Well it certainly sounds like you've all had great success stories with lots of changes. We eventually want more dogs, so hopefully after a while she can adapt to that too!
When I was growing up we lived in a semi-rural area. My dad brought me back a half-Bobcat kitten from one of the neighboring farms. (At least that's what the owner told him). The kitten did have a bobbed tail & stomach spots. I was in HS at the time.
Bobbie lived with all of us. I went off to college and she stayed with the family. When she was 8 or 9, my Dad retired and they sold the house & moved to Mexico to another house.
I picked up Bobbie and our/their dog and they lived with me until my parents got unloaded & settled. Then I loaded them in the car with a friend from across the street and HER dog and we drove to Guadalajara Mexico with 2 dogs and Bobbie.
We all survived the drive, stayed in Guad for a couple of weeks for a vacation. Bobbie (and the dog) adjusted well and she lived until she was 13 or 14 years old. She was a cantankerous old cat but had tons of personality.

Hooray for another good story
And wow! A bobcat mix, I bet she was a stubborn little lady. Glad she got a wonderful life with you all. I'm looking forward to see how my kitty does when the time comes!
