In addition to providing the treats for inside the crate, try to make sure he is getting enough exercise several times a day... this is often more than you might think - but you do need to be careful with not OVERDOING a too young dog. Nothing is sweeter than a little pup with that "sleepy face" just begging to get in his crate for a nap.

I will usually, combining everyone else's suggestion of keeping the crate in our main area at first and short times with a fav toy, play with my pup in and around the crate so it becomes a fixture. It should be no big deal to go in the crate is what I mean by fixture, make him think there is no difference from falling asleep in there as there is falling asleep on the rug in the living room. So I take the door off at first when I am home. Throw treats in it, throw balls in it, anything to show him that the crate is not prison by any means. I think that will also help him learn that it is ok to relax and chew his toys in there.
