No matter what it will be better than my current options!
She is about 95lbs right now, she was heavier at her peak but it was all muscle. I feel like she is a little underweight right now, but the loss of muscle tone makes it worse.
She takes up the majority of the couch when she is stretched out across it, she also goes all the way across the backseat of my ford explorer.
This is in all reality the last winter we will have with her, so I want her as comfortable and happy as possible.
I also figure the cats and probably Loki will enjoy it for a long time to come.
Was I dreaming when I read what you wrote about keeping one in the closet for when we need it?!?!
No, I deleted it because I thought I was sounding like a commercial!
I was seriously wondered if I had imagined it!!
It is the first post christmas purchase on my list, she will be a happy girl.
Tonight she came into the living room and nearly flopped on the rubbermaid lid full of glass ornaments. I don't know if she didn't see it or just didn't care where she was about to lay down.
My two favorite new dog accessories in a couple of years have been that heated mat and the little LED lights to hang on the collar at night.
This is a bit OT so please forgive me for hijacking! But have you really found those lights to be useful? When do you normally use them? I considered getting one but don't typically have Keiko out in the dark off leash and figured I wouldn't really use it.
If you rarely have her off leash at night one of the light up leashes might be a good thing for you!
I use a headlamp on my dogs collar for very dark areas, especially out in the woods of leash at night, but in a pinch I have been known to put a glow necklace around their necks. I think a LED clip on would be much easier though!!

Just potty in the yard is a biggy: big dark yard, bushes around the edge, multi dogs ... I really like seeing each bobbing light and knowing where they are.
But also walking on leash in the neighborhood at night -- they are much more visible (and me too, since I'm connected! ).
I love them. They are on 24/7; they are smooth and flattish ... nothing sharp or uncomfortable, nothing hanging enough to catch on anything. (Not much bigger than their tags, actually.)
