My kid is a BIG eater, especially vegetables ( I know, I got lucky!)
But he goes through these times when he can eat more than me in a sitting and sleeps like 16 hrs a night, then he has a growth spurt and slows down on the eating thing.....
I have a 9 month old GSD who just has done this same thing this week. She is usually an enthusiastic eater, and was leaving at least half of her morning meal every day. I was just starting to worry, but she is back at cleaning the bowl today. I also attributed it to what others were saying about growth spurts and energy... Even though she continued to be active with walks, she was sleeping more in the house and wasn't outside in the cold as much since I was home from work for 2 weeks of vacation.
So who knows?? Puppies are like kids and grow in spurts.

At some point our dachshund was really picky. It was the time we changed her from puppy food to adult food and found it hard to find one that she would eat and didn´t make her eyes run. And then she went back to being the hooverdachs she was as a pup and is so ever since.
And yes, kids eat. My son eats about the same amount at the age of 1,5 than my daughter at the age of 5...
She just got out of heat in December, so that might be part of it.
Also, she'll eat everything else.
I was planning on taking her off her puppy food this month, so I'll try getting her a new food incase she is just bored.
She eventually eats it if I leave it out, but I don't want to leave her bowl out all day.
Her eyes are still running as well, more then yesterday.
Which is why I'm going to ask, is it normal that their eyes run like that? Seeing how the post above me seemed to have that problem as well.
