The worse thing for us and him, is that he loves playing ball so much, and he can not play on the grass. If he does, even for 10 minutes, he is miserable for days. I hate that!
Poor Kasey! Kind of makes you think of wanting to put "astro turf" over your whole yard, just so he can go out and have some fun!
I had asked the Vet about changing our grass type to something that she wasn't allergic to. But he said, it wouldn't matter because the pollens are in the air.
I noticed that when the weather gets warmer and the heat is off that she stops itching as much, so I bet that the dust and dust mites from the furnace are two of her more severe allergens as well.
We already use the highest grade filter for the furnace, so I just will have to be more diligent than ever dusting and vacuuming to help that.
You wouldn't believe how bad our yard looks right now. There are many spots that are just pure mud. I have to wash paws several times a day and give weekly baths to both dogs anyway.
So, we have major lawn repair to do very soon.
Just wanted to say Thank you again to everyone. This forum continues to be one of the best things I have ever done for my two dogs. I learn something new every day!
Joyce,
There are hepa filters that go in the little vents that blow the hot air out. I know they have made a difference for our allergies and also cut way down on the dust in our house.
They don't seem to redcuce air flow that I can tell.
Jennifer,
This is awesome news... I didn't know such a thing exists!
Can you tell me where you buy these filters?
Do they carry these at places Like Lowes and Home Depot?
This kind of thing sounds great, I want to get these asap!
Thanks for the info!
Thanks Jennifer! I will get these, as I really think they will help. I have started getting allergies too, and anything that will help keep the allergens to a minimum will be so helpful.
