A friend of mine went on a 3 day vacation a few years ago. And, came back to find that a squirrel had completely destroyed all the wiring in her car. She had been careful to park it in the shadiest
spot in the parking lot. It was a very expensive weekend.
Your friend should have spread some poisons and traps around the car and had somebody with a sniper rifle lay in wait - who knows what's lurking out there? Better yet, rig the car with explosives and set to detonate when anything moves within 20' radius. The car is a lost cause anyway, at least take some of THEM out with it! http://www.puromycin.co.uk/gallery/animals/SquirrelGun.jpg
Ana great photo to match the well thought out plan of removal. As much taunting as these critters do to my dogs, I'm sure they would be on board with you.
I spread cheyenne pepper around the fuel tanks/hoses and they do stay away from chewing the rubber, I just have to remember to do it.
The little bastards are bushy tailed packrats who LOVE insulation, wiring, and chewing through wood siding. I hate squirrels specifically douglas squirrels. I hate their little bushy tails...
This probably wouldn't be the time to mention that I feed the "bushy tailed packrats!'
Cayenne pepper does work, so does nutmeg and cinnamon, or your neighbor could douse her wood with tobasco sauce using a spray bottle. I wouldn't want poisoned animals that could make my dog. or any dog, sick! She may be able to rid these rodents, but more will move in, so this poison could be hanging around for some time...What about the neighborhood cats?
