He puts the wet dogs in crates, opens all the windows in his SUV, and drives the freeway for an hour.
That's a pretty interesting way of doing it!
I just use these microfiber towels I get at Costco(in the automotive section) You get 36 towels for $15.99. They are great, because I use them for lots of things and they wash up great. They dry fast too. But I am with Steve, unless you power blow dry them or use the forced air dryers, they stay damp for quite some time.
My female is forever in our pool and I have gotten used to her being damp in the summer.
FYI to anyone using FrontLine. Today I had planned to apply Lulu's first dose of Frontline Plus. We have company coming on Sunday so I gave her a bath. I checked on YouTube for a how-to video to make sure I apply the FrontLine correctly. There is, and the first thing the vet said is not to apply within a 48 hour period of a bath. The coat must be dry. So now I will wait until Sunday after the company is gone. And keep her dry in the meantime.
We play "bullfight" I wave the towel and he charges into it and forms a little doggie towel burrito, he then rolls around in said burrito and is usually dry enough to to drip or mud track in a matter of seconds.....he gets to play and I can go back to whatever I'm doing
we're still working on taking the dirty wet towel and putting it in the hamper (we've gotten "bring it to me" and "put it in the bathroom"....no hamper yet though XD)
this is most effective with a large floofy bath towel...
When I gave my dogs a bath, I actually put one of my robes on Lily, just to help her dry off a bit more then what I could get with about 4-5 bath towels... lol, yeah, alot of dog, with alot of fur takes alot of towels But it did help having the robes on her... and I put it on her as if she would have stood up like we do and tied the belt around her waist. She walked around like that for about an hour, maybe less.
I would love to get a few ShamWow!'s to dry my dogs off! Just another thing to invest in for my crew.
I tried the ShamWow and thought it was a ScamWow.
I didn't think they worked well at all.
I think the microfiber towels from Costco worked so much better and you can wash and dry them in the dryer, much more resilient wash after wash.
The ShamWow towels, it says not to put them in the dryer and by the second washing, they were pilled and left little fuzz balls all over the place.
Plus $16 bucks for 36 towels was a much better price and I use them for everything.
