Think of a rally course, and visualize each part of it, with you and your dog going thru the whole course, doing a great job, just like you do in training. Include any things you do for warm up or preparation. See yourself doing well and having fun.
Mental practice is just as effective as physical practice, and if you practice success mentally, it will help you out in the ring. Trust me; it really works!
Have fun at your trial.

First of all, good luck, Merdith! I was just about to write about visualization, and then read Leih's great post. I have used visualization in other aspects of my life and it helps alot.

Meredith!! Congrats and good luck on the upcoming event!! Go team Ripley!
How exciting for you. I love Rally. I think it looks so fun and I want to get Conan involved too someday. I think it's a great sport. Leih gives the best trial advice ever, so listen to her!
We'll do our best for ribbon sluts everywhere, CJ.
Hey… I resemble that remark!!!
So… is anyone else as excited as I am to find out how the wonder team did?
Excellent, I’m sure. However… even if the scores came back a little low or somewhat unfavorable, this judge is a complete stranger who, in that case, I’m sure is in desperate need of a pair of new glasses and certainly had no business passing judgment on a dog of Ripley’s caliber.
It's been a few days. Funny story, kind of. Ripley and I got 4th place with an 87. Everyone got dinged 10 pts on a station, so I felt ok about it.
Was not relaxed, however. So tense and nervous that I actually had a heart attack and I'm still in the hospital. I hope to be a lesson to type A frustrated perfectionists everywhere. Life is too short to worry so much.
