I second Betty's comments about Training in Drive. Purely Positive Training is a much more general book about raising a puppy via positive methods, and basic training of positions and such. I don't think PPT would be what you are looking for right now, tho I love it as a basic training book.

Cindy: I have heard Scott is fantastic. If we get to a place that I see real potential I will for sure check him out. Unfortunately I just dropped a lot of money on obedience training (long story) and I can't do any private training at the moment. For right now I was just looking for some fun positive stuff I can do at home as a project. In the future I will definitely keep him in mind.

Ditto on the Purely Positive Training. It's a great book, but especially applicable when starting with a young pup.(wish I had had it when I first got Chula)
