.... I gave her another strawberry and this is the face she made. No joke! And I wasn't even ready to take the picture, so it came out so weird, which is partly why I love it.
My beloved "Frosty Face" was my old Lab Mokie. I saved Mokie from the Euth room at the Duluth, MN dog puound when she was 5 1/2 months old. She lived with me for 13 years.
This is Mokie along with Toni and Shyner about a year before Mokie died. Note all the "frost" Her frost started at her feet and spread upward. http://leerburg.com/photos/kellydogs.jpg
Mokie taught me everything there is to know about pack politics, and she was there for me when nobody else was. She never competed in anything... in fact we barely passed basic OB class. But, she was everything to me, and left a huge hole when she left us.
When Mokie got to be older, I would put a bell on her at night so that I knew where she was if she ever wandered off. There are times, when I feel sad, I swear I hear her bell. It makes me smile. I know I will see her at the Bridge, but she is sticking with me until I get there.
Hugs and kisses to you, Ole Lady -- I miss you still.
This is Ginger. The picture on the left is her between 1-2 years and the picture on the right is around 10 years. She was amazing. She was my dad's box of rocks, and my chubb chubb.
She had a heart shaped spot on her back. It was the perfect shape too. She died at the age of 14 from congestive heart failure. She was in alot of pain. But the week before I can to visit, I found out she didnt handle me moving out well even though she was my dads dog, and she stuck by me the whole day I was there. She was saying goodbye. Even as I type this I am starting to cry.
She is the reason why I got another Brittany. She was the best dog a kid could grow up with, and I will miss her with every breath I take. Its been 4 years and I still carry her picture around in my wallet along with my husband and kids. She will never be replaced, and I know I will see her again.
To my Gin-buckets, you were the best bad breathed dog a person could ever want. I will always love you.
Oh this thread is killing me, I love the pictures and stories so much, but I'm sitting here crying with my old girl under the desk and my husband is giving me funny looks.
What blessed dogs to have such wonderful people.
Actually, what blessed people to know the love and value of such wonderful dogs.
It really is a two way street.
