Ditch the milk bones (or any other treats besides training treats, which you're just using his kibble there anyway), until he's eating more regularly.
Then, as others have suggested, put his food down (preferrably in a quiet area), give him 15-20, pick it up if not eaten. Offer again at next meal.
Do NOT make an issue over eating! He eats or he doesn't, up to him. Dogs will not starve themselves.

Milk bones give diarrhea, in my experience.
Some pups are desperate to eat when the come out of their litter, then recognizing that all the food doesn't disappear if you don't "chow down", they back off.
I think 2x a day is adequate at 10 wk. in a med. sized pup.
Do what everyone said, put it down and turn away. Soon, he'll be cleaning it up.
It is REALLY hot and humid --- supposed to be worse tomorrow. Bet he'd like a kiddie pool...

Wendy- Yes, 1 1/2 cup food total per day. Equals 1/2 cup per feeding. French Brittanys are medium size dogs. Hes gaining just fine because he is actually getting extra with me using the kibble for training treats as well. Total in reality is about 2 cups per day. We are feeding Nurtisource Small and Medium Breed Puppy food. http://www.nutrisourcedogfood.com/nutrisource/products/small_medium_breed_puppy
When the vet figured out the Kcals per serving, with what size his breed is, she said about 1 1/2 cup per 10 lbs per day. Just around what the bag says.
I have ditched the milk bones for now. I agree we have to get him used to eating regular kibble. I knowticed he eats good when he is tethered to me, but We finally got the idea he eats 1hr before girls get up, during the girls nap time, and then after they are in bed. Its quiet and I can ignore him but still keep an eye on him.
He doesnt like the kiddie pool believe it or not, but he likes sitting in the air conditioning. We have been walking him early early in the morning and about 8-9 pm at night. But he still is kind of blah in the heat. Not that I blame him. Fall where are you when I need you.
Other then that training went well, only used kibble and the trainer was very ok with that idea. She said she actually recommends that use it kibble for now, and Finn has food drive like no tomorrow. Now the only other thing I have to do is clean up under the girls' booster seats a bit better. he found some stray chicken and potatoes. Goofy puppy.
But thank you everyone for the advice. I am following diligently because I have not been steared wrong yet! Thanks again everyone!!
Mary

Wendy, even to me a total amateur, that seems like a lot of food. I did a search and read the review of the kibble you are using on this website...http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/showproduct.php/product/507/sort/2/cat/all/page/2. This may not be the exact product you are feeding, but you can read the review. They are not very enthusiastic about it.
I feed my Bichon puppy who (if she follows her parents) will be around 11 pounds as an adult. I feed her Blue Buffalo Chicken & Brown Rice for Puppies. At 15 weeks according to the package and our vet she should be getting just over 3/4 cup per day. I purposely have cut that back to exactly 3/4 cups and that includes any and all treats I feed her during training. Everything I read tells me the amounts are inflated on the packaging. I feed her 4x a day, but will soon be moving back to 3x a day when she hits 16 weeks on Friday.
Hope this helps and does not confuse!!

Mariellena,
I use the dog food not wendy for our pup. We have had him two weeks and he's doing fine on it actually. We will be changing him when this stuff is gone to TOTW or Canidae when we finish the amount we have left. This is what the breeder feeds his dogs so we have continued feeding him his because we didn't want to stress him out by changing his food right away. According to the vet and the bag these are the right amounts. I agree its alot but he's growing just fine and so is his weight and coat doing good.
But we will be switching him as soon as he is done with this bag. Thanks for the info on the food though it does make sense because we do use the food and I have seen the amounts on the bag. The vet figured it out by the Kcals on the bag to figure out what amount he should be getting.
Thanks Mary

Sorry Mary...the mind is not as sharp as it once was. I miss details these days. And your name is an important one. I also now remember you posting about what and why you are feeding. Foot in mouth will be removed...but it does tend to slip in again.

lol...god forbid!!
I guess it's been too long since i've had a puppy (i miss puppy breath!)
That amount just seemed a bit large and in my fuzzy moment (i prefer "fuzzy" to "blonde") i was thinking "my god, if that's true tucker would be getting close to 9 cups of food a day!!!
later i realized how insane my line of thinking was and remembered it's different for puppies.
