OTOH…Confession time! My biggest offender is all the junk I put in my Joe!
Like a drug addict {gulp} I am addicted to flavored creamers, what floats in my
mug, a few times a day, loaded with all those chemicals..I give new meaning to half & half!

Watching carbs, but not eliminating them, adding lots more fresh stuff, etc... it is amazing what paying attention to what I'm eating can do... and no, I do NOT expect nor want to continue at this rate but it was certainly a good incentive to keep on working at it!
I'm proud to say that Chula has lost 3 lbs (from 92 to 89 lbs) in the past 6 months. She needed it; her waist had lost those girlish curves, as had mine after having a kid at 40 years old! Chula's weight loss was from increased exercise.
Like Barbara, I cut out carbs like bread and pasta and reduced portions of less processed carbs like rice and potatoes. (and no more soft drinks or other sweetened drinks) To make up for the lost calories from carbs, I added fat (yes, fat!) to my diet. The addition of a small amount of fat helped to ease the carb cravings and kept me fuller for longer periods of time. Lots of veggies and moderate amounts of fruit.
End result, I have lost 9 lbs in the past 9 months and have not significantly increased my exercise.

I'm seventy pounds over chubby ....and I eat way too much baked stuff....
I never would have known if you hadn't told us. Your left leg looks fine.
All the dogs trotted in to find out what the burst of hilarity was in here when I read that.

Five years ago I lost 50 pounds. I have managed to keep 30 of them off. Sweetened coffee was a big time reason why I was so overweight. At my fattest I drank 2 large Starbucks caramel macchiattos a day.
I'm a hairdresser, and at the time I was working 11 hour shifts, taking clients on half hour with no breaks. I didn't eat at work, so I would propel l myself through the day with having these drinks equivalent in calories to an ice cream sundae with 4 shots of espresso in each one. Then I would go home and unhinge my jaws in front of the fridge before passing out. I made a lot of money, but there was no doubt it would have killed me if I wasn't so young.
I also loved those weird creamers. I could have drank the amaretto one straight out of the carton! Now that I quit the sweet coffee I can't drink it anymore. It actually makes me gag.

Portion control is my biggest sin. I only drink coffee on Sundays and it's only a two cup pot. Guess who drinks both cups in one mug? Or if I'm eating a really good steak do you really think I'm stopping at 4 oz? Hahaha Also what is a portion of baked potato?
I feel for this man. (NSFW) I too....want to eat.

That's funny! My sister used the patch to quit smoking and ended up addicted to the patch for over two years
I'm a total hypocrite. My dog is lean, healthy and athletic and eats a well-thought-out raw diet.
I am a junk-food-filled weeble. When I think of how much exercise I get in a day, it astounds me to think of the number of calories it must take to maintain my weight I have slowly lost about 30 pounds over the last couple of years, but oh so slowly....
I DID quit smoking a couple of years ago (which is part of the reason I am weeble-esque, I suspect; the other part is that I eat too much) and I'm a walk-a-holic, which is good. But I drink a 10-cup pot of coffee every morning to get moving. It's shameful really.

I'm an awful eater, dislike about everything except black coffee from awake to sleep time. Probably a good thing for the dogs though, I have a really, really hard time not sharing with them.
