Tammy: From the pictures I saw on the search I think the dog might be a Dogo Argentino x red nose pit.
It is possible that he likes the dog that way. We do have some dog fighting around here. There is a possibility someone bred a litter trying to create the ultimate fighter.
This dog himself is probably not a fighting dog, he still has his ears and tail. But there is always a possibility that the guy went searching for the most game dog he could find because he gets some sort of kick out of it.
I am partly thinking about doing this to be nice, but there are some selfish reasons too. I just don't like that there is one string and a cheap muzzle between him and my dog.
This dog is an evening news story waiting to happen.I hope that if I pass along some info he will at the very least consider getting some appropriate equipment.
Do it!
You could leave a note too ...say something like your dog is impressive...I saw in this catalog that they have real muzzles that let the dogs breathe..they are used on police dogs.....I think it would look great on your dog.
And wouldn't it be cool to have such an impressive looking dog under voice control.....here are some contacts for some "police dog training clubs"....they can teach you how to control him and protect you for real....
Or I bet you two would be great at Schutzhund..here are some contacts.....
(I know, I know..its a mastiff, but it might get him in a club....)
Its worth a try.....get him in a club.....I had no idea at one time that there were any muzzles other than cloth ones....at least he has a muzzle on it!

There's a reason it's called ripping off a copy Debbie.
There's only about a boat load of other synonyms for it but the simple term everyone understands is STEALING.
You're right Randy. I'm sorry, I guess my first thought was about the dog and I didn't continue thinking before I posted my first thought.
I get it that you weren't thinking and that you recognize that Randy is correct.
Actually, I'm glad it came up, because the fact is, it IS stealing, and it's illegal, and I'm afraid that sometimes folks don't think about that first.
