Maybe we can get Leerburg to sell the Tripett for those of us who don't have access to the cool pet stores you do!
Well that's just the thing. I've never found anything of quality in any of our pet stores and rarely go into them. Had to go in for the kong frisbee but that was the last time.
I've spent so much here on Leerburg that I was totally amazed to see that they were selling this quality stuff. Orbee balls and true tugs and all the raw food you could imagine. Antler chews and the quality kibble I often use for training treats (Orijen, TOTW).
Yeah... I was so a kid in a candy store. Couldn't get the plastic out fast enough.

I do see garlic powder on their site. I'm gonna email them and ask, even though garlic powder as flavoring is generally excluded from the warnings against alliums for dogs.

tripe is always one of those things on my want list. When I googled I found garlic and garlic powder listed. I know a little garlic is ok.... I just have no idea how much is too much if the amount isn't listed.

Petco carries Tripett. I think they offer free shipping on orders over like $50 so if you stock up it wont cost you to ship it.
I keep a few cans on hand in case I forget to thaw their dinner out. I usually feed frozen raw tripe once a week, happen to be out at the moment so I feed the canned. Frozen is cheaper for me.

“Been there, done that.” LOL, thank you Leih, makes perfect sense now. Kinda thought I was being called some kind of shopping dufus, which of course I totally am – I actually hate shopping, (stores, crowds, line-ups), this is generally hubby’s department. Of course, as Barb pointed out, when it comes to others, the boys in particular, and a small, exclusive, high priced store, I just had too much fun.
And yes Melissa, Garlic is definitely an ingredient.
Four things listed, in this order - New Zealand Venison Tripe, Water, Garlic and Vegetable Gum. Not sure what the “gum” is either?
I’m going to stop in again tonight after work and pick up some more – maybe a couple different kinds. The owner seemed pretty knowledgeable, I’ll see if she has any idea what the amounts are. If it’s any indication, there is no garlic smell or perhaps that’s what’s masking the fact it’s not excruciatingly putrid. It definitely steps up, shakes your hand and smacks your back on introduction, you KNOW its tripe, but it’s definitely tolerable.
You guys, can’t say enough about this stuff, I gave them the second can last night (a 1/3 of the can spread over a smaller portion of their regular meal) they pranced and danced and were in their down with wiggle butts. Once the food hits the ground they pop up immediately for the chow down. Gone in minutes.

(stores, crowds, line-ups)
CJ, that last one shouldnt be a problem. You used plastic, not a gun.
