If I was renting out a house/apt I would ask in the most obtuse way I could about their dogs and level of training and go from there. but the only thing I'd have to rent out is an old abandon bus or something
Is it available?
If I keep collecting dogs I may need someplace else to live Dennis.
I'm pretty durn quiet after about one am. So I won't bother no body.

After several years with the same insurance company, I know someone whose insurance agent drove by their house, saw a GSD in a kennel and terminated their coverage.
Marcia,
In that case, are all pits brought into the city confiscated by the authorities if caught and put to sleep or what? I don't blame your daughter but I would be so torn.

The way the law is written in Denver, any dog that exhibits certain pit bull traits -conformation (as opposed to being confirmed as pits)- as outlined by (I think) AKC and UKC can be taken away and ultimately euthanized. If a dog is traveling thru Denver, or in a dog show, it must be in a crate AT ALL TIMES.
Really, you should see Mikey. He's the sweetest thing.

You need to be careful with something like this. When my brother was interviewing with All State they wanted photos of the dogs on the property. They also stated they wanted to be notified when they got new dogs. Eeech....
Also they could take what you call mutts as a deception and refuse to cover your claim even if it was not dog involved. Better to be truthful and find out your insurance companies true colors than get tied up with lawyers for months.
If your agent never asked, your not always in the clear, you'll find out there’s a problem when/if an adjuster comes to your home to look at damaged property or something unrelated to your dog. The insurance carrier will send out a notice of cancellation in the mail. If you ever have an injury related to your dog, and that breed is on their list, you won't be covered. As Melissa said, it is better to be truthful.
You can call your state’s insurance commissioner as there are several states that passed legislation that prevents insurance companies from refusing insurance based on breed of dog.
I have faced these issues numerous times, because of a child related business on my property combined with breeds of dogs on the black list, combined with an in ground pool! It's a real PITA!
I got a cancelation notice for my Boxers...I don't have boxers, never did! We were away on vacation and a friend was watching the house, she had her boxer here.
Honestly I haven't heard anybody around here, nor our agent say anything about "Dangerous Dogs" and losing your homeowners. Does it vary state to state?
