It is a joint supplement that is powdered that you mix with water to make a dessicated liver gravy, that you can then add to raw or kibble. My six year old husky mix wasn't showing any signs of wear and tear...or so I thought, I definitely noticed a new bounce in his step about 6 weeks after he started it. It was expensive to start (with 4 large dogs in the house) but after 3 months you can go down to half (maintenance) dose. I now use it for all of my dogs in combination with the Solid Gold Seameal. They have small containers that you could get, maybe just 2 cup containers, that way you could try it before getting the 5lb or 20lb.
