When I use a prong I barely have to touch it and he knows and corrects fast. I am going to take your suggestions and go with them. I will keep you updated thanks everyone
Samantha is your dog low energy or just not into training; for instance distracted by smells sounds sights? If it is a matter of being distracted you may find a reward in the distraction.
Low energy or low drive are workable but as a combo a title might be tough but if your dog learns to enjoy the training it could happen. I personally wouldn't persue it if there was no joy in my dog for the work.
What breed is your dog? Sometimes knowing the breed history and what they were originally bred to do may trigger some ideas that could be used as a reward or even something different to train for.
Keep us posted. I personally always like posts that address motivation; I find if I don't mix up the motivators my dog's training soon grows stale. Funny, for a creature of habit he does not like same old, same old.
he is a German shepherd. he wants to please but just kinda blah and a little of I have to sniff this and what is that! He will chase cats loves squirrels if only I could train with a live animal lol j/k
Hey Samantha, if your going to use the prong to teach him, remember your going to have to take a lot of time weaning him off the prong before you go for a bh. If he likes to chase squirrels, have you tried a stuffed toy squirrel? I used one with my Rott for a few things in the beginning.

Edit reason: 1 m in Samantha
I had one that looked pretty realistic and had a squeeker in the tail. Drove him nuts.
Yep, so did we. It didn't last too long however, but it was enjoyed while it survived with stuffing and squeeker intact. (OH! I shouldn't have let him play with that alone, should I?)
