The boneless meat was mixed with Sojos dehydrated grain-free mix.
I about had a heart attack when I read your first post with no mention of the dehydrated food ....
Michael is of course absolutely correct that the diet as outlined in the first post is a nutritional disaster.
OK, so now .... now that no one is still thinking that your dog is walking around with osteoporosis and worse ....
Did you mean that you want to continue with the Sojo but use RMBs rather than muscle meat, or that you want to go to all raw?
Also, would you link us to the Sojo product that you're using, unless this is it: http://www.sojos.com/europa.html

I cant find a break down of the %'s, but Sojos lists " sweet patatoes, carrots, broccoli, celery, apples, whole eggs,, flax meal, calcium carbonate, carod powder, dried kelp, alfalfa and garlic as its pre meat-added ingredients
i should add that he gets about 5 raw eggs, with shells a week.

That's really a bit heavy on the raw eggs. Turns out that the yolk doesn't provide enough biotin to offset the avidin problem with raw whites. But that's nothing ... easily fixed ... peanuts compared to what everyone thought (that you were giving a muscle-meat diet).
If that's the right link, then yes, it's similar to THK and can be made with muscle meat.

Brian, Have you noticed anything "off" with your dog? What brought you to Leerburg and posting about your pup's diet?
Welcome, by the way. Michael and Connie will take good care of you!
Wow, thank you all so much for all of your incredibly fast replies!
Nothing is "off" with my dog, other then i want to get him off the Sojos and onto a totally raw (yes, with bones!) diet.
My dogs breeder pointed to leerburg.com for products and advice, my dogs grand-papa is one of their old studs, Otis

Your dog's breeder was right.
Is this your dog's grandpa? http://leerburg.com/otis.htm
Awesome!
OK, so how much do you know about doing all raw? Have you read any of the LB "Feeding Raw" pages or any of the books?
Can you get chicken backs? That's such a nice cheap RMB to start with.
PS
I think that there are folks on this thread who are almost giddy with relief, Brian, that you weren't giving a no-calcium diet to a puppy.

Is your dog big like Otis? I think I remember Otis as a hundred-pounder!

Sorry about the scare, i was trying to be as concise as possible! lesson learned..
Yep, thats the dog! no, my guy isnt as big as Otis, he is about 82 lbs right now, but he needs to put on some weight. He has a TON of drive and energy, so he gets lots of play time, but even with 3 lbs of chicken breasts mixed with the sojos, its hard to put weight on that guy.
I have read the raw diet Q & A on this site from Cindy, and now really want to go totally raw.
I know that Sams Club as really cheap chicken wings, thighs, legs quaters, (99 cents a pound) but ill have to check on the chicken backs.
Would that be a good starting point for a gulper, the backs?
Also, i plan to follow that 5 day raw menu example that Cindy posted on this site

Brian, you want to have that raw menu example as your goal rather than your starting menu.
I'd check on the chicken backs for a nice easy start, maybe thighs or quarters as another choice, not really wings.
Then (and we will guide you through every day if you like), you tell us what you got and we go from there. For example, if you got backs, you'd peel the skin off (to make them kinda low-fat, just to avoid any GI-surprise diarrhea) for a couple days, and watch the poop. Then the skin gets added back; watch the poop. Then the fish oil and E; then maybe plain no-sugar live-culture yogurt, and so on.
You'll be adding organ meat (in addition to the handy-dandy kidneys that are stuck on the bone side of the backs) and maybe canned mackerel or other cheap fish, and more, but gradually (especially the organ meat).
All you need for about several days are the RMBs (like backs or thighs or quarters) and maybe a container of good yogurt (full-fat for this guy, but added gradually).
