the thought of a match not happening never occured to me..duh. I didn't realize there was a matching proocess. The dog at times doesn't pick the recipiant?
I don't know how often this happens. The article I read on Aiden said that both dogs were more comfortable around adults and didn't "bond" with the boy. We know from Drift's amazing stories that this isn't always the case - she certainly has a speicial affinity for children. Hopefully the therapeutic horse riding, where our instructors select the right horse (size, temperment, work load) for the student will give Aiden just the right horse to bond with until the right dog comes into his life.
What a neat story - I'm so glad it is working out for him to come to the riding center! The riding center sounds like an amazing place.
As for dogs and kids, I see it in my dogs how differently they can react to kids. Kenzi adores kids of all ages, Kipp ignores them unless they have his toy. Missy loves younger kids and has learned that the older ones can be a source of endless ball throwing, but besides that can take them or leave them.
