Wow Michael, how cool is that!!! Your post was so exciting, what an adventure!! I hope you’re FIL is planning on sending a bit more Turbo’s way, once the butchering is done.
Did you get the tripe?
You better check yourself over for scrapes and scratches too. And you might want to get into something a little stonger (for sleeping sake) like a full blown Bud, none of that light stuff.
You could take the tech answer and put a GPS tracker on him and just let him go....they are not too expensive
I've really thought about this. There is a board member that uses them on hounds and they sound really cool.
I can't seem to find one local to get my hands on. I want to SEE it to know what the size is like for a 15 lb.er. That would be the ticket, though.

(Especially Turbo, for being so patient)
I deserve this. All of it. I could feel frustration on his part. So much that one time he just sat down while I figured out what I was doing.

You know, I bet folks would like it if they could call you and Turbo to help them find their deer. Lots of people loose their deer and never find it.
I wish more people had a dog available. A lot don't even think to find a good dog. If I don't see my deer fall and die, you bet you ass that a dog is going to get the first shot at the trail.
A good dog can raise recovery rates by a mile. Some places in Europe require you to have a dog available to even be able to hunt in the first place. I don't think that is such a bad idea.
I make it well known to every hunter I know that Turbo and I are willing to go anywhere at anytime to help. No guarantees, but I know that there is still a chance, even when no blood is present, when there is a dog involved.
If nothing else, Turbo can bridge the sometimes long gap in between blood drops. That is a huge help, too.
